Now for the last show from Genndy and it is a good one, in my opinion. Much like Samurai Jack the show has its own type of dark and epicness in the three seasons that the show had while on Cartoon Network. Each episode showed a unique story about the different characters that fought in the Clone Wars after the second episode and gave fans what exactly happened in between two and three. But back to the stories, they don’t just focus on just Anakin and Obi-wan, but also follow the Jedis like Yoda and Mace Windu. The show even focus on the sith in some episodes and shows new characters not seen in the movies before. Each episode is an interesting venture for any fan of Star Wars, Genndy or just epic action cartoons. Despite being only on for three seasons it made its mark as the best Star Wars cartoon series and a lot better than the 2008 series, but I’ll save that for another day. Anyways, I find this installment an enjoyable one and must watch, in my opinion.
I give it an A
I know I’m missing the Powerpuff girls, but I’ll leave that for another day and for now I’ll review another one of his great shows. In this cartoon, it is about a boy that lives Japan and his home is taken over by a demon named Aku, who was voiced by Mako, and must become a Samurai and save his village from the wrath of Aku. During the battle, Aku used a trump card and sent our hero into the future so that he won’t interfere with his world domination. Here he, know known as Jack, must save the world by finding a way back home and stopping Aku from taking over the world in the past and for him to return home. Each episode is very dark and epic with intense battle scenes and the show has some interesting supporting characters like the Scotsman, which was one of my favorite characters in the show besides Jack. I will say this, the show is by far the best cartoon every to appear on Cartoon Network and shouldn’t be forgotten by anyone who enjoys good cartoon series. My only concern is that the cartoon seemed to end to early and never finished the story at all, which is very disappointing, let’s hope they bring it back and finish it right.
I give this awesome show an A+
This tripLaborle review is dedicated to the talented Director,Producer, and Writer Genndy Tartakovsky who was apart of some of the best cartoons made for Cartoon Network. The first is Dexter’s Laboratory which is basically a boy genius who has a secret Lab and has strange adventure that either involve science or covering up his “secret” Lab. He lives with his oblivious parents and his stupid sister Dee Dee who always break his Lab and experiments. Anyways, I have to admit in earlier episodes the show was enjoyable with new and exciting things happening to this interesting little boy. There are even some episodes that even included some parodies of other show in the 90′s which I enjoyed and I’m also very nostalgic as well. Another thing that I enjoyed while watching the show, would be the sub show like the Justice Friends and Dial M for Monkey, which were very humorous for me. The show even had a good movie which was not only funny, but even had its own level of drama. As you can see I enjoyed this show… from 1996 to 1999… you see the show came back in 2001, but the show just completely changed, in my opinion, the animation, voice actors and the stories were just bland and weird. I mean it was okay just wasn’t 1996-1999 greatness for myself. The overall show was good and worth watching, but the hiatus just ruined to show for me in the end.
I give the show a B+
There are a lot of unique controllers, but using the Nintendo gun, the same one used for Duck Hunt and Hogan’s Alley, is used as a controller in the game Gumshoe. I think this was an interesting concept instead of using just the regular controller for the NES. Now on to the game, like I said before the game has an interesting concept and that is you shoot your character to make him jump and avoid enemies and save the day. I know this is a weird format, but for a game like this it works in a weird way. My concerns is that this game is far to short and it could have been a bit longer, in my opinion. Also, the Nintendo gun is to unresponsive and you may miss your character or an enemy and lose your game. Other than that, the game is fun to play and gave us a new way to play an NES game.
I give it a 7.5
In this interesting game you play as a herd of Yoshi’s that are on a deadly mission to save the world from the eminent destruction of the free world with the help of John Connor… o sorry I’ve had the Terminator on the mind right now… anyways you play Yoshi’s in attempt to save Baby Mario from Baby Bowser from him playing with… him. Besides the story being a little weird the gameplay is actually pretty good with hard levels and endless Yoshi deaths abound… I mean seriously what do they do to all those Yoshi’s anyways. Each level is a great challenge and the game has some tough bosses too with make it even hard for most casual gamers. My only other fault is that the game may be too challenging and you may lose so much frustration will take over and you may lose a controller. Besides that it is still a good game and worth playing if your in on platforming action.
I give it an 8
I’ll say this first… this is by far one of my favorite show of all-time. The show is very funny and the jokes are clever in almost all the episode. For those that don’t know the show, it stars a simple New England family called the Griffins, Peter, the father, Lois, the mother, siblings Chris, Meg,Stewie (my favorite character) and their dog Brian. Of course, this family is far from simple with bizarre and crazy plots that involve celebrity bashing to insane going’s-on in Quahog, Rhode Island. Speaking of celebrities, the creator Seth MacFarlane has even enlisted some famous celebrities to voice-over in the show which makes the show even more exciting to watch. The main voice cast is also impressive with Seth part of his writing team, including Mike Henry (Cleveland Brown) and Alex Borstein (Lois), and well-known actors and actresses like Seth Green as Chris and Mila Kunis as Meg. In fact, the show was so popular that it was cancelled for three years and they brought it back since everyone enjoyed watching the show. Despite all the success, I feel that seasons five and six were very lackluster with only a few good episodes here and there. But, that all changed when season seven came and completely changed my perspective on the whole show. With all this in mind, you can either love this show or hate it… for me I enjoy watching this show.
I give it an A in the end
Let me start off by saying that this is a strange game, but an enjoyable one to say the least. You play as an islander who is trying to save his girlfriend and the only way to do that is to… use a skateboard. Yeah despite sounding weird it is actually the best part of the game. The games has hard levels to play and is very challenging as well as it progress on. Also, back to the skateboarding, while it is fun and funny to see your character your platforming is drastically changed and you’ll lose a life. Speaking of lives, the game is a pain with them since you only have three to play and no continues… big let down to a good game. Besides that, it is still a fun and enjoyable game to play and more of a challenge to anyone.
I give a 7
Now I don’t usually review Sport video games, but the NES was my childhood and I played some of their sport games and of those there was Ice Hockey. First off, there isn’t much to do except just pick a team like the United States or Canada with the player both big and slim and try to beat your opponent. I for one like the simplicity of the game… I mean nowadays the games, from what I’ve seen, are very complex and monotonous I mean there are modes now with refreshments and when to have Fan Appreciation Day… that is just my opinion. Also, I like how it felt more like playing a fuse-ball like Hockey game and requires less strategy and a bit more gameplay. My only gripe with the game is the graphics aren’t that great and they overuse of the same sprites, but this was back in the NES era so I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt.
In the end, I gave this game a 8 for making this game enjoyable to play
First off, this game was the first game on the Gamecube and I think it is the best out of the rest of the Gamecube. It has new types of games and boards to keep the fun going. Of course the high point of the game is like always the multi player mode since it is the whole reason for playing this game. The single player mode is not really worth mentioning since there is no significance at all towards the game. There are the same characters you’ve seen in the old games on the N64 and provides, just like any other Mario Party game, hours of fun gameplay. The problem with this game is that there was really no difference transitioning to the Gamecube it felt like playing fight on the N64 again. Also…. this was the last time you could play as DK which, well for me, was very dissapointing… Dang you Hudson.
In the end I gave it a 7 for lack of improvement, but was enjoyable to play
Since I did the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm review, I thought I review my first Naruto game that I’ve ever gotten (this is the dub version). I will say this first, the game has some interesting combos and you can play it for hours against computers or your friends. But the games story is very short and there are very limited amount of characters to play as so it was very disappointing for me. Luckily, these fighting games get better as the franchise continues, although, I’ve haven’t played them yet, but I plan to real soon. Nonetheless, I’m a Naruto fan and the game was a decent start to the dub video game versions.
I’m ging it a 7 and hope for the next one to be a bit better
